+ Welcome to Morley Water Polo Club: Dive Into Our Free Taster Sessions!

Are you tired of staring at the black line at the bottom of the pool? Water polo is an incredibly fun, fast-paced alternative to traditional, boring swimming. It’s a dynamic sport that will skyrocket your fitness, build immense confidence, and create lifelong friendships.
Here at Morley Water Polo Club, we pride ourselves on forging strong, mixed-gender teams where tight-knit bonds are the norm. And let's be honest—our girls and ladies are often much fiercer in the water than the boys and men!
We genuinely care about our members and go above and beyond to make everyone feel completely welcome. We are a proud, inclusive club for anyone ready to work hard, provided you meet our minimum swimming criteria listed below.
What We Offer: Your 3-Week Free Trial
We want you to experience the thrill of the sport firsthand. That’s why we offer three weeks of training sessions completely for free.

There is zero financial commitment upfront—your only job is to jump in and try your absolute best. This gives you the perfect opportunity to see if you enjoy the sport, like the club atmosphere, and want to become a full-time member.
The Timed Swim Assessment At the end of your three-week trial, the club will conduct a timed swim to confirm that you or your child meets our minimum swimming criteria. Unfortunately, water polo is widely considered one of the toughest, most physical sports in the world. To ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment, we have to ensure all members meet a baseline standard of swimming ability.
Training Times & Match Commitments

We train hard and play hard. Please review our schedule below to ensure it fits your availability:
-
Thursday Nights (Morley): Minis and Juniors start at 7:00 PM, and Seniors start at 8:30 PM (Please note these times can occasionally change to accommodate matches).
-
Monday Nights (Tong): Our Juniors have an additional training session from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

Important Note for Junior Parents: Your child must be able to attend both the Monday and Thursday sessions to join the club.

Match Expectations Water polo is a team sport, and we compete together! All training members are required to play in both home and away matches. Our "Minis" squad is the only exception, as they play a minimal amount of developmental matches while they learn the game.
More Than Just a Pool: Our Social Scene

At Morley, the fun doesn't stop when you dry off. We are a community that organizes fantastic social events for all age groups throughout the year:
-
For the Kids & Teams: Presentation Nights, Club Quiz Nights, Race Nights, outdoor splash park trips, bowling nights, and gaming nights.
-
For the Adults: Frequent nights out in Leeds and Morley, legendary tournament weekends in Blackpool, and we are hoping to secure some "fun in the sun" overseas tournaments for 2027!
-
For the Families: We are currently looking into organizing action-packed long weekend getaways at holiday parks like Butlins.

+ CRITERIA
Water polo is a physical sport, where fitness and sprint swimming are essential. We therefore have minimum criteria for anyone joining and training with the club. Whilst we believe strongly in having fun, we are a competitive club, and as such, we train to compete.
Mini Polo players [Boys & Girls] : Aged 7 to 12: should be able to do a minimum of 100m continuous swimming (50m front crawl and 50m of a recognised stroke of their choosing). Additionally, they must have completed stage 7 in swimming.
Junior Polo players [Boys & Girls] : Aged 12 to 18: They should be able to do a minimum of 400m continuous front crawl, and ideally have come from a competitive swimming or Water Polo Background.
Senior Players [Men & Women]: 18 plus: then you must have a good level of swimming, ideally competitively trained, and having a good base fitness level. Unfortunately, whilst Water Polo is a great sport to keep you fit, it isn't a great sport if you aren't fit and it simply isn't safe for you to take part in the session, as our risk assessments are based around competency.
