Head Coach
Steve Malpass
Steve joined Morley Swimming & Water Polo Club in the summer of 2018 having spent several years away from the sport of water polo. Previously he was a regular player, Assistant Coach and Table Official at Castleford Water Polo Club for almost 15 years, having played in the Wakefield and District League against many past and some present Morley players. Prior to starting to play Water Polo in his early 20s, Steve was a local level competitive swimmer with his local home town club Knottingley ASC for over 10 years. Shortly after joining Morley, Steve gained his Swim England Water Polo Coach Qualification (Level 2). In a relatively short time he has also helped form the first Women's Water Polo Team for Morley, as well as continuing to develop the junior section of the club. Although approaching his mid 40s, he now enjoys playing Water Polo again, along with indoor cycling/spinning classes and gym in his spare time away from his busy finance profession.
Assistant Coach
Steve Simpson
Steve joined the club in 2017 and has enjoyed being an active member as both a coach and player. He has 3 sons, all of whom are junior players for Morley. Steve is pleased to see his them enjoying water polo and enjoys open water swimming when not playing water polo. He is proud to be joining Carl in the role of welfare officer for the club.

Alex Marshall
Alex joined Morley as a mini aged 10 and has been playing water polo ever since. When Alex was a junior she became a qualified assistant coach and has been coaching the mini water polo squad. She continued to play water polo in the juniors and has now progressed into the Women's team.

Carl Smith
Carl joined Morley as a junior aged 13 for a couple of years before focusing on competitive swimming. At university he picked up water polo again playing for Lancaster University for 4 years before returning to Morley. Since returning to Morley Carl has spent his time coaching the mini water polo squad whilst playing for the men's team

Matty Wake
Matty joined Morley as a mini aged 10 and has been playing water polo in the juniors. After progressing to playing in the Men's team Matty has become a qualified assistant coach and is now coaching the mini water polo squad
Assistant Coach
Luke Smith
Luke joined Morley as a junior aged 13 for a few years before focusing on competitive swimming. At university he picked up water polo again playing for the University of Leeds for 3 years before returning to Morley. Since returning to Morley Luke has spent his time coaching the Men's & Women's water polo squads whilst recovering from a long standing injury/surgery
